{Forty Deuces} A Vegas 40th Birthday Bash

Vegas 40th Birthday Party 1
What a deal! We’re placing our bets on this chic, Vegas-Style 40th Birthday Bash from Stephanie Uchima of Preppy Chic Events. When Stephanie was approached to plan this gig, they decided against going with an ordinary vegas-style soiree and chose an old, burlesque club-themed party instead, hence “Forty Deuces.” When it came to decor, Stephanie tells us:

The color palette of red, black and silver was accented with sequin and metallic linens (we used the New York linen from La Tavola), crystals hanging from the centerpieces and giant feather arrangements. There was Vegas bling everywhere!

I absolutely love the huge feathers woven throughout the party and the red, sequined dessert table cloth could not be anymore appropriate. The paper goods from Posh Paperie, all with card suit accents are equally as fitting to go along with the deck of cards handed out to each guest as a favor… love! The party was held in the couple’s home, so they were able to turn each room into different “vegas”-esque entertainment suites (i.e, the indoor lounge serving “Sin City Coolers” to drink with blackjack tables for card playing.) Kevin, the “shy” man of honor, had one stylish 40th birthday bash which clearly proves to be a night he’ll never forget! Great job ladies… I’ll take gamble on this party any day!Vegas 40th Birthday Party 2Vegas 40th Birthday Party 3Vegas 40th Birthday Party 4Vegas 40th Birthday Party 5Vegas 40th Birthday Party 6Vegas 40th Birthday Party 7Vegas 40th Birthday Party 8Vegas 40th Birthday Party 9Vegas 40th Birthday Party 10Vegas 40th Birthday Party 11Vegas 40th Birthday Party 12Vegas 40th Birthday Party 14
Party details, as told by Stephanie:

{FOOD & ENTERTAINMENT} The elaborate dessert bar by Cupcakes Couture of Manhattan Beach was definitely a focal point for the eye and the stomach! From blackout cakes shots to salted tuxedo and red velvet cupcakes to berry filled macarons decorated with hearts, spades, clubs and diamonds to cheesecake bites and mini chocolate nutella cake pops, the desserts hit the mega jackpot.

In the next room we had an indoor “lounge” with the bar serving “Sin City Coolers”, blackjack tables (the dealer looked like Kenny Powers!), a DJ mixing up some beats, tray passed appetizers of seared ahi, tiger shrimp, lamb chops, lobster cakes and caviar, and a design-your-own risotto martini bar with osso bucco and lobster risotto by 24 Carrots catering. Outside we created a cigar lounge where the guests could design, smoke and take home their own cigars by Mursuli Cigars.

{SURPRISE} The highlight of the night, however, was the main “surprise”… a burlesque dancer! It was a tasteful and shocking performance for the shy birthday boy. Her champagne dance was a nice lead in to the evening’s toasts and her provocative final routine definitely caught a lot of attention!
